Job readiness: why it is crucial
Preparing students for a bright and successful future is the goal many Universities are chasing. Being ready for their first job is not enough. Graduates must be fully prepared, alert and possess the relevant skills to see them through the next 20 to 30 years. They must skilfully adapt to the constantly evolving professional working environment.
Universities may need to focus on soft skills, apprenticeship programs, mostly fine-tuning the practical application. Diversifying the HE market and creating a new normal are key skills in teaching job readiness to a new generation of graduates.
