Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University’s College of Nursing attains International Accreditation for Nursing

The Program becomes the second to be accredited in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and third in the Gulf region.

The Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BScN) offered by the College of Nursing (CON) at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University (IAU) has received initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN), the global accreditor for all levels of nursing education located in the United States and internationally.

The College of Nursing (CON) applied for the International Program Accreditation by the ACEN in Feb 2019. The Program had the consulting review visit (1st review) by ACEN reviewers in Oct 2019. The initial accreditation review (2nd review) was scheduled from Oct 2020. During this pandemic, the college successfully completed the virtual review process, as per the 2017 – ACEN Standards and Criteria.

The decision to grant full accreditation was conveyed in a letter signed by the CEO of ACEN to H.E Dr. Abdullah Al Rubaish, President of IAU, and to Dr. Friyal Al Qahtani, Dean, College of Nursing. The much-awaited and highly valued accreditation grant has a validity period of five years, from November 11, 2019, and can be renewed.

The management congratulates the Dean, students, faculty, staff and all the supporting deanships for their hard work and efforts in achieving this milestone.
