I am working for the Eurasian Centre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Healthcare (ECAQA) and I was until recently a Vice-Rector for Postgraduate Education/CPD and Clinical Affairs of Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.
I continue to serve the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) as an Adviser for CAR and CIS and Assessor for the WFME Programme for Recognition of Accrediting Agency for Medical Education https://wfme.org/about-wfme/people/
and contribute to the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) as Member of APQN Board Directors (Elected) and Reviewer to the Asia-Pacific Quality Register (APQR).
I have been involved as an Expert for WHO/EURO Programmes for the Central Asia Region and the CIS since 1998 and the WHO/WFME Strategic Partnership Programme for Improvement of Medical Education in the CIS (Russian Federation, Ukraine, Moldova, Turkmenistan) since 2005. Also, I contributed to Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) Projects in Medical Education Reform in Tajikistan (2011-2019) and extensively working as Coordinator and Senior Expert for the World Bank and Kazakhstan Ministry of Health’ Project for Medical Education Reform and National Quality Assurance System in Medical Education.
As Senior Expert of the National Accreditation Centre of Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan contributed to establishing national accreditation system on medical education and implementation the WFME Global Standards for Quality Improvement in Medical Education (BME/PGME/CPD, PhD) in Kazakhstan.
My interests are in Faculty Development and Quality Assurance in Medical Education and Healthcare Professions Education and I had my experience in establishing the first Centre for Medical Education, Clinical Skills Centre and implementation of the Quality Management System at the Karaganda State Medical University, which has been certified by NQA UK-Russia (2001-2009).
