Perhaps college isn't for you, maybe you'd like to do something else. Especially where building a career and earning money is concerned.

In the US many of the trades pay more than jobs that require a 4 year degree, especially when one considers the fact that there are no student loans or tuitions to pay. Independent electricians and plumbers, for example, can easily command $100/ hr. Welders and machinists are also well paid and always in demand. With reasonable money management one can expect to retire in comfort (as have I) without obtaining a degree. Another consideration is that a degree may require one to work in a cubicle under a fluorescent light, staring at a computer screen all day, which would fit into my definition of hell.
